Day 1, Sat. FLIGHT TO HONOLULU. Aloha and welcome to Hawaii! Upon arrival at Honolulu International Airport, you will be greeted with a fresh flower lei, and transferred to your hotel in Waikiki. Your tour director will be on hand to assist with check-in.
Day 2, Sun. HONOLULU. PEARL HARBOR AND CITY TOUR. Enjoy a continental breakfast and reception with your tour director. Afterward your sightseeing excursion features the sunken USS ARIZONA and its impressive memorial to the men still entombed there, Punchbowl National Cemetery, and Honolulu Lookout. Other sights include bustling Chinatown, Iolani Palace, and Kamehameha’s Statue. The afternoon is free for independent activities. Tonight join the optional sunset dinner cruise along the shores of Waikiki. (CB)
Day 3, Mon. HONOLULU. A full day at leisure. Your tour director will have suggestions including activities near world-famous Waikiki Beach, or a full-day optional outing to the Polynesian Cultural Center on the island’s north shore where you’ll enjoy a lavish dinner buffet and the colorful stage show "Horizons." Day 4, Tue. HONOLULU. INCLUDED EVENING LUAU. One last day to enjoy Waikiki, the world’s most famous beach. Your tour director has ideas to make your day memorable. (CB)
Day 5, Wed. HONOLULU-MAUI. A midmorning transfer to the Honolulu airport for the short flight to Maui, the "Valley Island." On arrival, sightseeing begins with a visit to the lush greenery of the IAO VALLEY. Then to the former whaling center of Lahaina. Free time to explore this colorful town, with its giant banyan tree spreading across the town park. Then head to your hotel, situated across the street from the beach in the resort area of Kihei. Day 6, Thu. MAUI. A full day at leisure to enjoy Maui’s balmy climate. Your tour director will describe optional outings that take you along the Road to Hana, a spectacular drive with 54 bridges and countless waterfalls, or to the Maui Ocean Center, a state-of-the-art aquarium and marine park that showcases indigenous marine life. Day 7, Fri. MAUI. VISIT TO HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK. The morning is dedicated to HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK, a long-dormant volcano. Marvel at the contrasts, from a landscape of cinder cones to dense rain forest. Rare proteas, flowers with impossibly giant blossoms, are cultivated on the rich volcanic soils. Return to your hotel in the early afternoon with plenty of time for you to enjoy its amenities. Tonight attend a LUAU, and experience Polynesian music, dancing, and a traditional Hawaiian feast. Day 8, Sat. MAUI-HOMEBOUND FLIGHT. The trip ends today in Maui. Transfer to the airport in Kahului for your homebound flight. (CB)
Days 9 & 10, Sun. & Mon. KAUAI. Two full days at leisure to further explore this lush tropical island whose quiet seclusion makes it a favorite with honeymooners and those who want to escape into a tranquil and stress-free paradise. Not to be missed is a day excursion to Waimea Canyon, dubbed the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" but perceived by many to be even more beautiful because of its constantly changing colors throughout the day. Visit the North Shore and see one of the most scenic points in the entire Hawaiian archipelago — Hanalei Bay, scene of many class movies including South Pacific. Kauai offers the best hiking for all levels as well as sea kayaking, and boasts some world-renowned golf courses. Day 8, Sat. MAUI-KONA. This morning fly from Maui to the "Big Island" of Hawaii. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kona on the Kohala Coast. Choose from a selection of exciting optional excursions: a full-day island circle tour that visits Volcanoes National Park, a tour to historical Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Park, a one-hour helicopter flightseeing adventure, or a romantic sunset dinner cruise, among other choices. Days 9 & 10, Sun. & Mon. KONA. Two full days at leisure with plenty of activities to choose from. Sun-drenched Kona lies on a sport-fishing harbor at the foot of Hawaii’s two highest peaks, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. Why not visit the harbor and charter a deep-sea fishing boat, or take a snorkeling trip to one of the nearby coral reefs? (CB)
